Plant Pop-Up Sale - Saturday 14th September

About this experience

We are holding a pop up plant sale from 10 am to 2.30 pm. You will be able to buy some of our plants at a reduced price and we will have experienced gardeners on hand to answer any of your growing questions.

Most plants on offer will provide some colour for a few weeks yet and the herbs will continue to provide leaves for several weeks yet. Whilst the summer growing season is drawing to an end, now is the time to prepare for next year by planting biennial and perennial plants. If planted before the end of September whilst the soil is still warm, these plants will have time to establish and all going well will bloom next Spring. We have echinacea, verbena, salvia, Verbascum, white lavender, buddleia and euphorbia to name a few. Some of these plants have now past their blooming period, but if planted now and cared for over the next few weeks the plants will bloom beautifully next year.

If you are thinking of starting a herb garden, the hardy perennial herbs such as thyme, sage, rosemary and chives can also be planted now. A strawberry bed is best made now for a modest crop next year, and a great crop the following season.

Our kiosk will also be open for coffee, tea and pastries, plus we will have milk eggs and butter available too.
