Join us on select Saturdays every month at our Produce Sale.
Our produce sales provide a chance to take home just-picked fruit and vegetables from our biodynamic Market Garden. Enjoy a coffee from our container-café and pick up seasonal vegetables, cordials, jams, and preserves.
Our much-loved artisan breads and baked goods are available in limited supply as are our organic eggs and dairy from our Guernsey herd.
The Heckfield Home Farm produce sale is open from 9am to 1pm. As we have limited parking and harvest all produce especially for this event, we ask that you register your attendance through our website. Tickets are free of charge and allow entry any time between 9am to 1pm.
We are the proud home of a certified biodynamic market garden and organic farm.
Originally established as part of the Estate in the mid 19th century, Heckfield Home Farm was an exemplar of the self-sustaining relationship between land and house.
When Heckfield Place was restored, we re-established this relationship and today our ‘estate to plate’ ethos sees us supplying fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy to the hotel’s restaurants, bars and well being space, along with year-round flower decorations for the hotel and its rooms.
From sowing seed, to weeding and planting, we look to biodynamic principles to ensure the best quality and biggest flavour.
We have seven greenhouses – each set to different temperatures – where we propagate plants, flowers, and trees for use across the Estate, including the market garden, arboretum and Heckfield’s historical gardens.
We grow a vast assortment of produce within our market garden throughout the year including lettuces, soft fruits, brassicas, squash, and a variety of species of tomatoes, as well as providing for year-round fresh flowers including narcissi, tulips, ranunculi, roses, delphiniums, grasses, berries, and various edible blossoms.
The animals on our farm bring fertility to our soil and are a vital part of the biodynamic circle.
Following the introduction of our dairy herd to the estate in 2019, we opened our own dairy that generates organic milk, cream, and butter from our 50 Guernsey cows.
Our Suffolk, Hampshire, and Southdown sheep graze the land while our free-range chickens provide an abundance of eggs.
