We have implemented a variety of ecological initiatives to encourage a diversity of flora and fauna to thrive across our estate.
We have created meadow areas and wildflower strips for pollinating insects.
We have installed bird and owl boxes (some handcrafted using recycled materials from the estate), used fallen trees to construct log piles, formed dead hedges for endangered stag beetles, and created hibernacula designed for hibernating reptiles and microorganisms. In addition, we have planted mixed native hedging to create wildlife corridors.
We conduct annual bird, bat moth, butterfly and wildflower surveys across the estate to identify changes to our ecology and areas to improve.
