About this experience

The winter months, especially early in the New Year, can be a tough time for birds, hedgehogs, and other small animals that share our gardens. Their food supplies may be dwindling, and extreme weather conditions can upset habitats and food stores. Join Jamie Cooper, our Wildlife Warden, who will share how you can help these creatures in a workshop on the simple ways to give wildlife a helping hand during the colder months.

You will learn how to feed with care, discovering which seeds, fruits, and foods different birds love, and how to provide them safely, along with how to create shelter, and wild-friendly gardening. Jamie will also teach you how to make a seed ball, using plant-based oils, seeds, oats, and nuts, ready to hang in the garden. Every garden, no matter how small, can become a sanctuary. A few thoughtful actions can provide warmth, food, and safety to the creatures that are so important in our gardens.
